Hot, hot, hot

When I think of Arizona, I think of heat. I think just about everyone does.
I'm hear to tell you that there is heat, and there is HEAT.

Like so many around the world, we are having some serious hot weather (even for AZ).
I can't imagine what made the pioneers stop here (must have been heat exhaustion).
It is beautiful but summer is brutal. 115 today.

You know it is hot when.....

  • Tommy does not want to chase lizards.
  • The lizards are not interested in teasing the dog.
  • The cactus are dropping like flies.
  • Your laundry comes out of the washer already dry.
  • You come out of the shower already dry.
  • The hot water heater is turned off but you still have extremely hot water.
  • Pool water can burn you.
  • you really can bake cookies on your patio.
Only 3 more months of serious heat. Then I will remember why I really do like Arizona.

Stay Cool!

I couldn't even begin to imagine living in an area that hot. I don't like Michigan winters but 115degrees is like you say hot, hot, hot! I don't even like it when it gets above 90 here. Thank goodness for air conditioners. Give Tommy a hug from Charli and me. I love that picture of you and your son on the side bar ♥ I hope your other son is continuing to improve.

I lived in Flagstaff for several years in the late 90s and adored it. One of my favorite places I have lived in. Visited the Phoenix/Tempe area a few times...so hot in the summer. Your list of you know it's hot is soooo true. Thanks for stopping by my blog and my best to you and your family. Sea Witch

I remember when we lived in 29 Palms and Yuma and it was so hot you couldn't walk anywhere because you'd be sick before you GOT there! Then you had to worry about getting the groceries home and in the refrigerator fast OR the milk would spoil, sugar. So, yep, I'm familiar with it. This southwestern Idaho desert isn't quite as bad but it's HOT, chickee!

Awww...I'm so sorry it's sooo hot! Here in MI it has been unseasonably cool, even some trees are changing color near me. It really has felt like fall lately!

Hope you can find a way to keep cool!

Hugs!
Kim

Yes, we do have the same thing on the mind - HEAT!

At least ours will be over much sooner than 3 months from now!

I can't imagine, the heat sounds awful. It is so cool here mid 70which is kind of weird for July but I'm not complaining. It's better than 115. Poor Tommy!! Anna and Bailey are enjoy the cool weather. Maybe Tommy should come visit them for awhile.

Stay cool and hydrated! :) It gets pretty hot here, but not so hot that the pool water can burn you... lol... ouch! However, with our humidity it often feels like it's that hot... only with the humidity you can't breathe. Take good care!

Blessings,
Christi

My dearest Barb,
How wonderful to see your comment! Oh my dear, I remember living in Los Angeles all my childhood...one day I remember it was 114 degrees while my husband was on my parents' roof doing some repairs on a trip back "home". I said, "GET DOWN FROM THERE!" But he had no problem...whoah. Please take care of yourself! We are having 75 degree on average out here in the nation's ice box! What kind of a winter it will bring, I don't know, but I am glad that we are not having any heat waves because here you get the awful humidity. GOD BLESS YOU ALL SWEET LADY! Anita
