May 4th

Snips and snails and puppy dog tails

OR

Sugar and spice and all things nice.

By this time we should have known whether

Newbaby 2010, ver. 4.0

would be a boy or a girl.

There was a scheduling problem so

May 4th is the big reveal.

I can hardly wait!

You know I love "the ladies"

so a little girl would be fantastic.

But, a little boy......

What an adventure that would be.

He would be surrounded by many "little mothers".

I have been checking out a lovely site that is

just filled with inspiration.

The Princess coach crib is just over the top

but I love it!

What do you think?

The one above

or this feminine gem?

These cribs are amazing.

The green is so comforting.

I'd sleep in it- hehe.

Of course, the ladies would need something pretty to

sit on while watching the new addition.

Much better than a DVD.

The kids will be doing the nursery in Antiques.

Dorothy received an antique crib that her mother had

painted. It was Dorothy's crib from the farm.

Her dad gave it to her after her mom passed away.

I think that crib was just waiting for this little one.

Very special.

So, the countdown is on. This grandma is patient (thank God)

but very excited.

So, snips and snails or sugar and spice...

May 4th we will know.
I think it is a boy.

P.S. Jeff wanted me to thank you for your wonderful comments.

Angels in Texas- TEXAS ROCKS

Jeff arrived safely in San Angelo, Texas last night.

I have to thank y'all in Texas that gave him a warm welcome.

But first some photo's taken by my favorite photographer

a.k.a

Dorothy, mother of Newbaby 2010, ver 4.0

Heading for the first of 2 flight's

to

Goodfellow Airforce base.

With the ladies at the airport.
This was before the tears hit (obviously).

Now, the story- I'll keep it short as an appointment awaits.

While traveling in uniform, the reception has not always been warm.

He and his fellow soldiers have been pushed around (literally)
and have been the recipients of really rude comments.

Nothing different on this trip.
He had 2 layovers, the first was in one of our favorite places
(the boys were born there).
Rude comments by many people.

Things changed when he boarded the plane to Dallas.
People kept thanking him for his service to our country.
He tried to buy a sandwich on the plane and the flight attendant
said it was on her.

Angel!

When he landed in San Angelo, an older woman
came up to thank him.
She shook his hand and placed something in it.
She then walked away very quickly.
When he looked, she had placed $40.00
in his hand.

Angel!

So, there are Angels in Texas and Jeff has met many of them.

This proud Army mom would like to thank Texas for the
WARM WELCOME.

Y'all rock!

I'm saving the best for last

I can't believe it has been 3 weeks since my last post.
That was some blog vacation.

Seriously though, we have had some health "issues"
around here but nothing that can't be beaten.
I've always believed that things that are not so pleasant,
have come to pass and not to stay.
Kind of like the flowers that are blooming in my pots.
I love carnations.
They just bloom where they are planted...every season.

I have had the opportunity to add some embroidered pillows
and some burlap (from my old stash of sacks) pillows
to my little shop.

I love how they turned out.

Now, I have saved the best for last.
Last Thursday, Jeff graduated from the Defense Language Institute with honors.
God Blessed him with a super brain.
It sure didn't come from me-hehe.

This is a photo of his class-all 9 of them.
Army, Marine, and Air Force.
They all are very special young men and women.

Some of his classmates with an instructor or two.

This photo just makes me smile.
It is so Jeff.

Can you believe how big "the ladies" are getting?
Jayde will be 10 next month.

Proud army daddy.

Photo's by Dorothy, mother of Newbaby 2010. ver.4.0

My absolute favorite photo.
This shows Jeff's true personality.
I just love and miss that grin.

Tomorrow he leaves for Texas (10 weeks there)
and then will fly directly to Hawaii.

I am so proud of his accomplishments.
Honey, YOU ROCK!

Well, I will be slowly making my way around the blog kingdom.
I've missed everyone.

Love his work and the message

Timothy R. Botts is a MASTER calligrapher and artist.
Needless to say, I adore his work.
With Easter right around the corner,
I thought you might like to see a snippet of his work.
They tug on my heartstrings, that is for sure.

While I enjoy my neutrals, I could fill my house with all
of these colorful creations.
Couldn't you?

There is beauty all around us

Even at first glance, if something doesn't look

beautiful, take a second look.

There is beauty all around us.

Have a Blessed Sunday.

This post is from April 2009.

A little under the weather so..

I'm re-posting.
Yesterday, I did a stint in the ER (I'll be just fine)
and as a result, I think I will be doing some re-posting this week.
Saving that energy-hehe.

I thought you might like to see a post from last March.
Love these diffusers and they are so easy to make.
In fact, they are still going strong a year later.
I hope you will give them a try.

If you haven't entered The French Elements giveaway,
there is still time. Just click on the button on the sidebar
for more info.

Have a wonderful day.

A surprise for us and a surprise for you (TFE Giveaway)

When we were in Colorado last week,
we received a great gift. A lovely surprise that
means the world to both of us.

Mom H. knew that I love old photo's, ephemera, etc.
This is just a sampling of what we were able to bring home.

Many of the photo's, hubs had never seen.
I don't have many photo's of myself as a child and I think
that could be why I have been "a crazy clicker",
always taking pictures of my boys and grans.
A legacy to pass on (or so I think).

I love this photo that ran in the Denver paper.
Mom and her BFF (Kathryn came to the funeral).
Two bathing beauties!

How sweet is this?
Autographed by Pee Wee King.
Mom H. had a piano and as a kid I took lessons.
I hadn't played in years and tried it out.
What a hoot! Not pretty but it had been decades.

What wonderful family treasures to bring home.
I love surprises.

Now one for you......
You know I love giveaways.
Last year I started doing a monthly giveaway
for followers.

Well, it is a new year and a new day.
In the past, I have given away TFE pillows, Chanel goodies,
Items brought back from France.

To be honest with you, I'm not sure what this giveaway will be
BUT
it will be full of French goodness and love.

If you already follow this blog, you will be automatically entered but you
can still leave a comment for a second entry.

New goodies and a commercial you'll love

A new pillow added to my shop.
Love the fabric chock full of all things French.

Right now, pillows are on their way to Belgium.
My first custom order to Europe.
I'm so excited!

Bamboo floor mat,

an adorable set of crown magnets,

glass trays to hold trinkets,

for vignettes,

or whatever you choose.

Shabby, French, vintage inspired trays.

These and more can be found here.

Every time I see this commercial it just makes me laugh.
Enjoy!
I hope you have a weekend filled with laughter, love, and sunshine.

What do these pictures have to do with France?

A hula skirt? Absolutely Nothing.

O.k, maybe in the South of France.

This is not looking very French like to me
BUT
more like Hawaii.

Certainly not a French logo.
Jeff has received his orders and after his 2 month
period in Texas, (provided the military doesn't change things up)
my dear family will be moving to HAWAII.

I'm still digesting the fact that Jeff is in the Army.
I know, I'm slow-hehe.

Dorothy will not be able to move right away because she'll be too
far along in her pregnancy.
So Dorothy and the ladies and NewBaby2010. ver.4.0
will be moving as soon as
her Doctor will allow.

What a year this has been.

So, while I always dream of a "little chateau" in France.
Rural or grand....

I have a feeling that a little beach shack
may be closer to what is in my future.
I'll just Frenchify it.

Viva la Frenchified beach shack!
