Angels are out there....

AND
I met one yesterday.
She saved my son's life.

J.W has had Type 1 diabetes since he was a wee one.
He is a brittle diabetic.
This, along with his other health problems has always been a HUGE concern.
He can go from high to beyond low very quickly.
He wants to have some independence but needs
to be in an environment where he is checked on regularly.

Yesterday, a little Angel came by to check on him.
His front door was open and she walked in to find him laying on the floor.
I won't go into all the details but I will tell you that she
made the calls in the right order.
1. Call 911
2. Call mom

When the paramedics arrived and checked his glucose, it didn't register on their meter.
It was that LOW.
I got the call as they were transporting him to the hospital.

I rushed off and by the time I arrived, he was doing much better.
He was released (they don't keep medicare patients in the hospital as long as they used to).
He is doing much better- Praise God!

I believe that his Angel was sent in the nick of time.
The Dr said if he hadn't been found when he did, the picture
would have been very different.

I am so thankful she arrived when she did and made the calls in the right order.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Miss Nikki.
You were sent to be in the right place at the right time.

Happy Sunday to each of you and remember- there are Angels watching
over us.

Oh, Barb...this post took my breath away and then melted my heart. Yes I do believe in angels and believe Nikki is one of them. I am glad your son is doing better. Sometimes being home rather than in the hospital is much better...you can't beat the TLC of a mother!

Not too long ago a friend in the UK had a similar angelic experience when her son's life was saved. No doubt about it - you've both been helped by angels! I'm glad that your son is recovering - what a fright.

You are so right Barb, there are angels watching over all of us. I'm so glad your son was found in time. Type 1 diabetes is such a worrisome disease. Your son was blessed in that this little angel was in the right place at the right time. I have been praying for your son and your family for quite a while now. Thank you for your kind comments and concern for Charli and me. We had a rough week but Charli is now on the mend and back to being her usual little cheerful self.

Oh Barb, I'm so glad your son is doing better. I also believe in angels and I'm so glad your son's chose to visit. I'm also happy that I chose this time to read a few blogs. As you know I quit blogging but check in once in awhile. My prayers are with you and I do think about you and son often hoping you are all well.

What an amazing testimony of God's love and protection. I am so thankful that Miss Nikki came along at just the right time. You are such a wonderful mother! It takes prayer and patience to balance the need to look out for your son and his need for independence. Though my oldest doesn't have the health problems, I am still must learn to let go while offering as much support as possible. It's a juggling act.

Love you,
Christi

Wow, powerful stuff! What did I read yesterday? It was something like 'Coincidence happens when God chooses to remain anonymous'.
Or the one my grandmother had in her kitchen: 'God couldn't be everywhere so he created mothers'.

Hi Barb,
My goodness! Thank God in deed and Nikki the angel. I know diabetes is a terrible thing, my Dad is diabetic and has had many a close call to coma. So I deeply understand.
Being a Mom sure isn't easy is it. I think we worry about our children all the time even when they are well.
Take care and hugs,
Elizabeth
