Happy Birthday J.W.
Today is my son's 27th birthday and this post is dedicated to him.
J.W,
I have learned many things from you over the years
and I thought I would share them here.
Many years ago, I was told you would not live to see this age.
Well, here you are.
I learned what man says is not necessarily true.
God is in control, not the doctors.
While you didn't hit the childhood milestones
when the doctor's thought you should,
you hit them when you hit them.
I learned to run my race from that.
It is not necessary to compete with others.
Run your race at your own pace.
I learned that it takes just as much energy to smile
as frown. As I look back, you are a smiler, and
what a charming smile you have.
You see people as people. Disabilities don't exist.
You accept people equally.
I have learned from you that all people really
are created equal.
I've learned to look through the eyes that God gave me.

I smile when I see this photo.
You gave your franc's to someone that was in need.
You kept a couple for yourself but shared what you had with someone else.
The gift was compassion and to share with those in need.
You have an incredible sense of humor.
This photo that was taken at Jeff and Dorothy's house when Jeff
was home in July says it all.
You were not well that day but carried on.
To look at this picture, you'd never know how ill you were.
A smile and a sense of humor can carry you through anything.
I am so proud of you and the young man you have become.
Happy birthday and may God bless you with many more.
We love you.
Thank you for teaching your mom so much.

Bonjour Barb...(this comment goes to the birthday boy(
Happy 27th Birthday J.W.....you are a great teacher and your Mom is a great learner! She is also a great blogging friend. She always shares her heart with us readers and is such a generous giver. She has given you life, her unending love, and the freedom to be yourself.
I hope your day is wonderful! Eat lots of cake and icecream for me!
WOW Barb. That was beautiful. No flowery words from me at this moment, just sheer admiration for the love that you have taught HIM to give. Merci. Anita
Life is so much easier when we learn the right lessons early on.
Happy birthday to your son.
Happy Happy Birthday! What a sweet fella you have! AND a great teacher I might add:) Barb, I pray God's richest blessings on you, your son and your family! Love from Georgia!
This is so sweet...you are a very talented writer, and I hope that your son was able to see this lovely post about him!
I hope he had a lovely birthday!
Oh Barb, thank you for visiting my post. Yes, simplicity of looking at the world through the eyes of Christ: LOVE ONE ANOTHER...and not try to complicate matters. We can't answer all the mysteries of the universe or the WHY'S but we can love each other. If we did that, that would keep us busy all of our lives and I think that would please Jesus! GOD BLESS YOU! Anita
Happy Birthday to your dear son!!
We learn so much from our children and our grandchildren don't we? What a blessing your sons are to you, just as mine are to me. We are two truly blessed women!!
Love to you in the New Year, Sherry
What a powerful tribute to your lovely boy.
I hope his birthday was extra special.
Beautiful post... so sweet. You have raised a beautiful young man under some tougher-than-most circumstances. May you both have an extremely blessed 2010!
Love,
Christi
