***DEPLOYMENT***

Many years ago, a friend painted this picture of Jeff.

He was 3 years old.

The ladies always laugh when they see this picture

because daddy is in a skirt.

They don't understand the "kilt" thing.

This is one of my treasures that someday

will be passed down.

When this photo was taken last year at Jeff's graduation from basic

training at Fort Jackson, this Army mom was so proud.

Proud of him and all the other soldiers that made it through.

This photo says it all.

I had been crying. My eyes are closed but I was so happy to see him.

Tomorrow he leaves for a ONE YEAR deployment (unless the Army changes their mind).

Due to his job, I have to be vague and that kills me.

I can tell you that I am heart sick!

He hasn't met his new daughter yet.

Yesterday, she was 2 weeks old.

My heart breaks for Dorothy and the ladies.

They are strong but it is difficult.

I know that many of you have been praying for him.
Please keep the prayers coming for the brave men and women that
serve our country.
Please say an "extra" prayer for Jeff.
We appreciate every single one!

OOPS! I just hit the publish post by accident.
I'm not known for long posts but... I'm not finished-hehe.

I will be back later tonight with the winner of my little giveaway.
See you later.

Big hugs from a very sad but proud Army mom.

OH Barb, when I saw that word... I knew what it meant! I will continue to pray for Jeff wherever he is going! I am so sorry that he didn't get to meet his new daughter before leaving but he will get plenty of pictures via the internet! Thank goodness for that!

Love to you and all of the family!

HUGS! (I think he is precious in the kilt)

Hugs to you Barb. I know you are proud, but with that pride comes a sacrifice. I hope you are surprised by joy today.

Dear Barb,

I lit a prayer candle at church for you guys. God will keep him safe. I feel sad that he hasn't met his little girl yet but we are lucky in this day and age...with technology, we can almost be there with the ones we love. Sending a big long distance hug to you...thank you for sharing such beautiful pictures. I can feel the love you have for him through this post. Love gets us through so much.

Hugs & Love, Angie

Jeff is in my prayers everyday along with all the other solders! My nephew has served three tours now and he will be deployed again. I really don't understand why our boys have to keep going back and back again. Four times is really enough..
Big, and Bigger hugs for Jeff and you too!
P.S The painting of Jeff is just adorable and so life like..a beautiful artist.

Oh Barb, I am so sorry to hear about Jeff's departure tomorrow--seems so unfair that he does not get to see his sweet baby before he goes. May the time pass swiftly and may he stay out of harm's way until you all see him again.

Hugs,
Debi

Hi ladies,

Thank you for your sweet words and prayers. I know God is in control but I am kind of a mess. He will be in an area without internet for much of the time.I can tell you that the area is a "hotbed". I never thought he would end up there!
Keep on praying!

I love the painting of your son, what a treasure! Barb, I hope it helps in some small way to know that we, your friends, will be keeping your son in our thoughts and prayers.

Love to you and yours, Bonnie

I will continue to pray for Jeff. It is so sad that he was unable to see his new daughter before he was deployed. Although it is not quite the same as being able to hold her, at least through technology (even if only sporadically) he will at least be able to see pictures of her and watch growth over the next year.

May God bless him and keep him safe.

Warmest regards,
Tracy

Yes, of course - prayers for him and for his beautiful family. My brother is in work-up for his deployment in the new year. I will be supportive, but I hate it.

It will be a sad time for you for a while, Barb, but just continue to say your prayers. That picture of him in his kilt is adorable. Sending good thoughts to you and your family...
