Looking forward to a blessed week

Isn't this lovely? Still pinching myself....
I hope I haven't confused my blog?  I know I don't post
like I did but I still Post when I can. After receiving emails telling me that
I still had comments off, I tried to change that. We will see if it worked.
I think I like the old blogger better. I know, I know...

Have a blessed week and I'll see you later.
XOXO and hugs.

Reminder in the dining room

It is so easy to remember that we are blessed when life
couldn't be better.

I think it is more important to believe we are blessed
when things are not so great.

This chalk board sits on an antique washstand in the dining room.
It is very visible when entering or leaving the house.

As we head out this morning, we are counting the blessings.
YAY GOD!

Back home and a BIG birthday

This post is to celebrate life.
Today Jeff turns 31.
I can't believe how fast the years have flown by.

I love this school photo.
Jeff was 6.
As I look at this photo, I can see Jayde and Hailey at this age.

The teen years. A time of learning and growing for both of us.
Enough said-hehe.

The photo above was taken at Fort Jackson.
The Ladies had sent this T-shirt to daddy for Father's day.

This photo was taken over Valentine's weekend when Jeff was
on leave.

Jeff, I want you to know that I have always been proud of you.
I have watched you grow from a precious little boy into an
amazing man.

I am in awe of your dedication to your family and to this country.
You are brave beyond belief.
May God continue to Bless you with his favor and grace.
Your mama loves you very much.
******************************************P.S. The funeral for Ray's mom was beautiful.
We flew home yesterday.
Yes, I did the Eulogy and God provided the words.
What a privilege I was given.
Thank you for your prayers.

Sweet Sunday

Say to them, may the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.

Numbers 6:23-26

This is a verse that I keep coming back to.
I think we could all use a little more of those blessings.

Happy Sunday.

Double the Blessings! Yay, oh yay!

You can tell from the picture that July 4th is going to be FAB around here.

My youngest son will be able to spend the weekend at home with us and I am so grateful.

To top it off, Jeff has a weekend pass and will be back in AZ.
I am doing a big time happy dance.
The girls have no idea he will be flying in.
You will probably be able to hear the screams of joy in your neck of the woods.
I can't wait!

Now, there is a little something that I feel a need to post about (unfortunately).
This is addressed to those "mean spirited" anonymous comments that have been coming in.

You are absolutely right. I don't visit blogs like I used to.
If you, or someone you love has serious chronic illnesses that are time consuming, you know what I am talking about. If you don't have these issues, consider yourself very blessed.
When I am not advocating or helping to take care of my son, I try to take care of my website.
In a perfect world, I could visit all my favorite blogs all day long.
At this time, that is not an option.

Please know that I do appreciate comments but I really don't want my grandchildren to read that junk. There is enough hatred and junk out there without them having to read it on my blog.

O.K, enough said on that!

Everyone, please have a safe and beautiful July4th weekend.
Treasure your time, it really is a gift.

Grateful, grateful, grateful

We are doing the happy dance around here and thanking God.
My son will be going into the assisted living facility today and he is so excited to finally be released from the hospital. We are hoping that he will only be there for several months but ....... not up to us.
For those that have been keeping him (and us) in your thoughts and prayers, I can't thank you enough.
Sadly, I received a few comments telling me to stop whining. I didn't look at it as whining. I guess it is the difference between seeing the glass half full or empty.
Oh well, not gonna rain on my parade!

We had the opportunity to speak with Jeff briefly on Saturday. YAY!
God has him where he needs to be and mom is at Peace with it (just took a little while).

Another reason to celebrate, I won a fantastic giveaway.
Teresa Sheeley is kind, talented, and an amazing artist.
I entered her giveaway and WON.
Yay!

I love her pillows and won all three.
Can you believe it?

These tea towels are to die for. I won them too!

Last but not least, this original piece of art by Teresa.
When you least expect it, blessings come your way.
Thank you my friend! I am still pinching myself. If you haven't visited her site, you are missing out on a treat! What a fabulous week this is!

A New Day

This has been a week of many changes.

This verse rings true for us.

Say to them, may the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.
Numbers 6:23-26

My sweet son has been in the hospital for 3 weeks. Once he is stable enough to be discharged, he will be going to a long term medical facility. His heart was broken (mine was too).
Those words are very difficult for a parent to hear. You want your children to live life to the fullest and be able to accomplish their dreams.
I know that God is holding my son in His hand. When we saw him yesterday, he had a calmness, a peace about it. We also have that peace.

Thank you for your prayers. They have made a difference as they always do.

I feel so fortunate to have the people that I do in my life. My hubby has been a God send in many ways. He is always there for me, through the good and not so good. He loves my boys as if they are his own flesh and blood. He knows when I need an extra prayer or a hug. God sent the right man at the right time. I am very blessed.

I hope to catch up with some blog reading this week as well as work.
I hold you all close to my heart. There are some wonderful people in blogland and I feel very fortunate to have you in my life.

XOXO

Counting Blessings

I have so much to be thankful for. A place to live, food on the table, faith, freedom, family, love.
There are so many things to think of and these are just a few.
Jayde and Hailey are (8 & 6) two of my biggest blessings ( along with younger sister Annika).

I love their honesty, their compassion at such an early age, and their insight into people.
They are generous with their spirits. I am blessed to be their grandma.
I also feel blessed by Sheila. She awarded me the Brillante Weblog. She has a lovely blog that you will enjoy visiting. Her spirit is generous as well, and talk about a big heart... That gal is the real deal. I told her it will take some time to pass the torch. I would love to give it to those who visit but I know that not everyone agrees with that.
While you go through your day, really take time to count your blessings.
