How about a cruise down the Rhine?

If French is a state of mind,

German can be a state of mind also.

Right now, I am cruising along the Rhine River

gazing at castles (you know I love my castles)

and picturesque villages.

AAHHHHHHH!

Lovely.

In reality, I am still a concerned dog mom.

Poor Tommy. He wobbles around like a person that has been

drinking wayyy too much bubbly.

The Vet thinks it will take several

weeks for his body to adjust to the medications.
I am hopeful!

In the meantime, this virtual vacation
works wonders.
I feel rejuvenated-hehe.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the cruise.

Auf (ARF) Wiedersehen.

This sweet little face is not feeling so well

It has been a while since I posted so I thought
I'd bring you up to date.
Our sweet Tommy (7 years old) has not been well.
He has been having grand mal seizures.
It has been a tough time.
The Vet is ruling things out and right now he is on
medication.
The medication is helping the seizures but he is
having a rough go.
I am in nurse mode.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I have had 21 years
of dealing with a loved one that has seizures.
At least I was able to really discuss with the Vet
the different stages he is going through.

I was telling a friend about it and her comment was
"he's just a dog".
He is more than that.
He is a very important part of our family.

As a kid, I was always bringing home animals.
Strays, injured, you name it.
I'm an animal freak.
Right now, I am a concerned dog mom.
I am hopeful that the situation will improve.
Saying my prayers.

Jeff arrived in Hawaii on Tuesday.
They had a wonderful weekend.
The ladies were so excited and surprised to see daddy.

He called from the USO while at the airport in Oahu.
A bag didn't make it on his flight so he had to wait 5 hours
for it to show up.
While waiting, he was able to call-BIG YAY!

For the next week or so, we won't be hearing from him.
The Army has his total attention.
I can't wait until he can call again.

O.K, this photo was taken in 1985.
I have it in a pewter frame on a table and every time I look
at it, it makes me SMILE.

It was taken in Hawaii.
J.W. was 2 and Jeff was 6.
I think that is a smurf towel.
If someone would have told me back then, that Jeff
would end up there, I would not have believed it.
It is so amazing the way things turn out.

Have a Blessed weekend.
I am hoping to visit if Tommy allows.
He really is the ruler of our house right now.

Some new things, some NEWS, and summer weather

Happy Monday!

Busy as a bee around here. I know all of you can relate to that.

Between Dr. appt's (J.W.), trying to get some work done,
and summer life, it doesn't leave
a whole lot of time.

I'll start with a shameless plug-hehe.
The collage above shows some new items in the shop.

I have been waiting FOREVER for those Crowns
to arrive.
Big Yay!

Now for the NEWS.....

Jeff leaves Texas on Friday
and has a weekend layover in San Francisco.
Dorothy and the ladies will be picking him up
at the airport and bringing him
back home to Monterey.

The girls have no idea that daddy will be
flying in.

I'm so excited for them.
They need that short time together before
he leaves for Hawaii.
Rumor has it that he may be going to
AFGHANISTAN.
I cannot wrap my head around that rumor.
Not going there!

And now, summer weather in the desert.
Summer = monsoon.
Monsoon=Haboob.

Quite often in the summer, we have haboob's (a giant wall of dust).

This YouTube video shows
one that was very spectacular.
Very scary but very spectacular.
I think it stretched for 90 miles.

I am hoping that we are haboob free
this year.

Have a Blessed day.
Big hugs!

A gem in Budapest

I am hoping this post shows up.

Blogger seems to be having a bad day.

Maybe it is the heat around the country.

Any whoo, I would like to be walking on this bridge

In Budapest.

Budapest has been on my "list" for some time.

Friends that have visited there, just rave about it

Great food, beautiful scenery, SHOPPING,

and a problem with parking.

Well, not so much anymore.

Hubby showed me what Budapest has done to

improve the parking situation and the beauty of
the city.

I think we could learn a lesson from them.

I think it is brilliant.

Are you with me?

Land of the free

home of the brave.

Boy, do those words ever ring true.

This post is dedicated to my soldier son and all the other

brave men and women that serve this country.

You have stepped up and stepped out at a very frightening time.

This is a decision that each of you MADE.

It wasn't mandatory.

You are proud to represent the Red, White, and Blue.

You have put our country's needs before your own.

I applaud each of you and wish I could

give you a big old hug.

May God Bless you and keep you safe.

All of you are loved and respected.

Thank you for your service to us.

Because of your sacrifices, we will continue to be able to celebrate
our country's birthday.

Jeff, if you are reading this, I LOVE YOU and
I am so proud of you my Yankee Samurai.

P.S. I know you have seen these photo's but they make me happy-hehe.
