Or someone here?
Arizona (so I've heard) has the highest rate of identity theft.
It is one of those things you hear about all the time but never think it will happen to you or a loved one.
Last week, we found out that my son has been a victim of identity theft and it has gone on for years.
We're not sure how or where it happened. Might have been during his many hospitalizations, just don't know.
What is interesting is the fact that social security didn't discover it (he has been disabled his entire life).
What a nightmare but one day at a time. I just think it is so sad that someone is so desperate
that they feel the need to use another persons identity. Our identity is the one thing that truly belongs to us (I think).
I was told yesterday that occasionally they will find someone with a long work history, actually using a child's social security number.
I really never thought the need to check on my sons info since he has never worked.
I'm here to tell you that you need to check.
You may be surprised at what you find!

Oh Barb, that's something you certainly don't need. I'm so sorry. I hope things will be straightened out soon.
blessings,
Lorrie
So sorry that has happened to your son! I hope it gets fixed soon!
How awful for you. But how does one find out?
I'm so sorry to hear of the Barb. It's hard to believe that someone would take advantage of another person like this but like you say it happens all the time. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this on top of everything else you have been through.
Thank you for posting this because it's a reminder to all of us that in these times we all must be extremely careful. I hope this week goes better for you and I pray your son is doing well.
That's just no fair! I'm so sorry.
We had our credit card info stolen recently and even that was such a pain to straighten out.
I'll be thinking of you and your son!
How awful. I hope you get the mess straightened out soon. I think it happens way too often. You have to be so careful these days.
Oh Barb...I am so sorry to hear that.Did everything get resolved and was there a lot of damage to your son's estate? What a violation and such an awful feeling. Please keep us informed on how this gets resolved. Stay well and peace to you...Anita

I am so sorry that happened. A few months ago someone hacked into my back account somehow. It was a nightmare. It's sad, but some people are evil.
You have a lovely blog. I love French inspired decor.
Have a wonderful week!

Oh bless your sweet heart... that is just terrible. I don't know how people can live with themselves doing things like that. You will have your hands full dealing with it all I am sure... you have my prayers. Please let us know how it all comes out. Will they prosecute to keep this person from doing it again? Love you.
