The passing of Eunice Kennedy Shriver- Special Olympics

AP file photo

If you have visited my blog, you know that Special Olympics is near and dear to my heart.

As the mother of a child (now 26) that has both physical and intellectual disabilities,
Mrs Shriver made it O.K to be different.

She gave a voice to those that needed someone to speak on their behalf.
She gave them HOPE and I can tell you that this was desperately needed.

She made a difference in this world.
I am eternally grateful for all her hard work over the years.

I just wanted to say "thank you for helping to give our children the dignity and hope they deserve".

Everyone deserves those basic rights.

God Bless you.

Hello my dear friend,
Yes, Mme Shriver most definitely made a way for our dear citizens who need and deserve all the support and love like anybody else. How is your dear son? I hope that each day he knows how much you love him so!!!! God bless, Anita

She was a lady and a humanatarian. She worked tirelessly and quietly never seeking attention for the work she did but for the work itself. Blessings to you and your family. Sea Witch.

She did a wonderful work for so many thousands. If more of us would stand up more for those that are not able to stand we would be so much better off as a world. That was a sweet tribute.

Me again, I stuck around to read some. I have two children who do special olympics and also did a post in honor of Mrs. Shriver. I've got to go make some afterschool snacks but I'll be back to visit.
