Angels are out there....

I met one yesterday.
She saved my son's life.

J.W has had Type 1 diabetes since he was a wee one.
He is a brittle diabetic.
This, along with his other health problems has always been a HUGE concern.
He can go from high to beyond low very quickly.
He wants to have some independence but needs
to be in an environment where he is checked on regularly.

Yesterday, a little Angel came by to check on him.
His front door was open and she walked in to find him laying on the floor.
I won't go into all the details but I will tell you that she
made the calls in the right order.
1. Call 911
2. Call mom

When the paramedics arrived and checked his glucose, it didn't register on their meter.
It was that LOW.
I got the call as they were transporting him to the hospital.

I rushed off and by the time I arrived, he was doing much better.
He was released (they don't keep medicare patients in the hospital as long as they used to).
He is doing much better- Praise God!

I believe that his Angel was sent in the nick of time.
The Dr said if he hadn't been found when he did, the picture
would have been very different.

I am so thankful she arrived when she did and made the calls in the right order.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Miss Nikki.
You were sent to be in the right place at the right time.

Happy Sunday to each of you and remember- there are Angels watching
over us.

Taking that trip....

I just love this photo.

It was taken in Cannes and instead of being the one taking the picture,
I wanted to be the one getting a little sun on the Promenade.

Mentally, I can use a little vacation in France right now.
O.k, the south of France provided it is sunny.
The weather has been horrific here in the Valley of the Sun.
Lot's of wind, rain, flooding, snow and even tornado warnings.

The other night, a drive that I can make in my sleep (takes about 1 hour),
turned into a 2.5 hour nightmare.
Let me tell you, you can do lot's of praying in a 2.5 hour period.

Not complaining, just stating facts.
We are very fortunate to have a roof
over our heads,& food in our stomachs.
God Bless the homeless in our country
and elsewhere (Haiti comes to mind right away).

I have been working on a few little projects.
I guess you already know what the next one I work on will say-hehe.

FYI- Kasey (lola b's) will be announcing the winner
of The French Elements giveaway on

Have a marvelous weekend.

A giveaway and a thank you

A while ago, when Kasey mentioned she would be going to France

in April, I thought it called for a giveaway.

I really get excited when someone has the opportunity to visit the country

that captured my heart decades ago.

To celebrate her upcoming trip, The French Elements

is giving away this sweet pillow (and a little surprise).

I think this is the perfect New Year giveaway.

To enter, please visit Lola B.

She will give you the details.

I would also like to thank all of you for sending

up prayers for my precious MIL.

They are appreciated more than you'll ever know.

A little request

I'd like to add a little addition to your prayer list ladies.
Haiti and the aftermath of the earthquake, is on
everyone's mind and list.
God Bless them.
This request is personal.

Many of you know that my precious MIL has
been fighting Stage 4 ovarian cancer
for a while.
She could sure use some extra prayers as her
physical body weakens.
If you are a praying person, please pray.
If not, please just send a positive thought her way.

I have seen the power of prayer first hand.

Thanking you in advance.
You all are the best.

Happy 101- thank you Lucie

If you have spent any time visiting my blog,
you know I am usually a very happy person.
Not a bad thing. I guess.

Lucie, was kind enough to pass this award
to me. Thank you Miss Lucie.
She has a very creative blog so if you haven't checked it out,
head on over. If you are interested in genealogy,
run don't walk.

Now, I need to share 10 things that make me happy.
This is a walk in the park for me-hehe.
  • my faith
  • my wonderful hubby
  • Jeff, Dorothy, and J.W.
  • my 3 grans (soon to be 4)
  • the arrival of NewBaby2010, ver.4.0
  • working on my projects
  • the best friends a gal can have (both off line and on line)
  • checking things off a list
  • thinking about future possibilities
  • looking back and having no regrets
So many bloggers are now award/tag free so
I am passing this on to those that are happy to accept it.

Yay Happiness!

Full of French goodness...

I am still walking on air
we have to eat so
take a look at this fantastic
Tarte Tatin.

This creation took so much time.... 20 minutes.
God Bless Trader Joe's.
It did come from the South of France though.

I thought about making one but when I saw this
I knew it was not to be-hehe.

You know I love to read and if you haven't read these,
put them on your list.
Both have been out for a while
but I visit them often for recipes.

Susan Herrmann Loomis is one talented lady.
Visiting her cooking school in Normandy is
on my short list (o.k, maybe long list).
Doesn't that sound like a wonderful
way to spend a few days?

Thank you so much for your comments on
countdown to Baby 2010 ver. 4.0.
I think I will be floating until ver. 4.0 is released.
Thank you Jeff and Dorothy!

big hugs,

P.S. I am sending AZ warmth to those of you that are
dealing with all the snow and cold.

****Exciting News update****

This photo of the Eiffel Tower has nothing to do with the following
news update,
I just like it!

Remember a couple of posts ago I
mentioned 2010 would bring changes and be

Read this and you'll know why.

"We have started the countdown

to the official release of

"New Baby 2010 Ver. 4.0,

and we should find out its

optional equipment "package" around April.

We have learned

quite a bit from the first 3 prototypes over the years,

and are confident that the new models

performance will be on par

with the previous releases."

Oh Yeah, I'm going to be a grandma again!
Jeff called right after Christmas to tell me and
I was (still am) over the moon.

You know how much I love my grans!
It is still early days but they decided
to share the news with everyone so...
when I read his news update I just had
to post it.

I will be around to visit
once I come back down to earth.

big hugs

What I learned from my son over the last 27 years

Happy Birthday J.W.
Today is my son's 27th birthday and this post is dedicated to him.

I have learned many things from you over the years
and I thought I would share them here.

Many years ago, I was told you would not live to see this age.
Well, here you are.
I learned what man says is not necessarily true.
God is in control, not the doctors.

While you didn't hit the childhood milestones
when the doctor's thought you should,
you hit them when you hit them.
I learned to run my race from that.
It is not necessary to compete with others.

Run your race at your own pace.

I learned that it takes just as much energy to smile
as frown. As I look back, you are a smiler, and
what a charming smile you have.

You see people as people. Disabilities don't exist.
You accept people equally.
I have learned from you that all people really
are created equal.
I've learned to look through the eyes that God gave me.

I smile when I see this photo.
You gave your franc's to someone that was in need.
You kept a couple for yourself but shared what you had with someone else.
The gift was compassion and to share with those in need.

You have an incredible sense of humor.
This photo that was taken at Jeff and Dorothy's house when Jeff
was home in July says it all.

You were not well that day but carried on.
To look at this picture, you'd never know how ill you were.
A smile and a sense of humor can carry you through anything.

I am so proud of you and the young man you have become.

Happy birthday and may God bless you with many more.
We love you.

Thank you for teaching your mom so much.
