Still in....

Just a quick post.

My son is still in the hospital and no release date in sight. We are hanging in there with lots of prayer.

I truly appreciate your comments and emails. I don't know what else to say but "thank you".

11 days and counting

This picture has been used to death but I think it is just so precious sooooo, here we go again.

This is just a quick follow up post regarding my son.

He has been in the hospital for 11 days. At this point he is holding his own (kind of) but we have no idea when he will be discharged.

We appreciate and thank you for your comments, emails, and prayers.

Count your blessings today and hug those close to you.

Life is such a gift.

Carnaval in Nice and a lesson learned

A couple of years ago, we were lucky enough to be in Nice during Carnaval.

We had a terrific view for parade watching. Carnaval typically runs from February 13th- March 1st. It is fun, loud, and crazy!

Now for the lesson learned. Yesterday we were at the hospital with my son and the subject of Nice came up.

I asked what his favorite memory was of Nice. He said it was talking with a homeless man (Michael) on the beach. He sees people as people. He doesn't see religion, race, politics or limitations. I have found that is the case with many people that have special needs.

I hope to be able to see life through eyes like that.

Prayer Request

Most of you know that I have a seriously ill son and over the last year have asked for prayer when needed.
Well, I am asking yet one more time.

The last few days have been difficult (o.k, the last 26 years really). He is back in the hospital and not doing well at all.

Any prayers would be greatly appreciated by all of us.

My precious granddaughter turns 7 today.

Miss Hailey, I want you to know how much joy you have brought into our lives. You are a very special young lady.
You have a gift that is rare for someone so young. The gift is that of compassion. Your sweet spirit has touched us all.

We have been blessed by having you in our lives. We are so proud of you. You continue to just amaze us.
